This privacy policy describes how Lodown (“Lodown,” “lodown,” “we,” and “us”) handles the collection, storage and use of personal data. It applies to our website, mobile application and related services. Please read this policy carefully to understand how we treat user data. When you use our services you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of information about you as described in this privacy policy. We describe how we handle this data below and what control options we make available to users. Please contact [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

What information we collect and how we use it

When you create an account and use Lodown services, we collect your name, email address, social network credentials and other personal data you choose to provide. We use this information for account creation, delivering services you request and customising content for you.

Specifically, we collect:

  • Profile data including your profile photo, biography details or social media handles you choose to provide.

  • Content you generate, like posts, comments or media uploads while using Lodown.

Third parties

We do not sell any personal information collected from users of our app to any third parties or advertisers.

However, we may share limited user data on a confidential basis with specific service providers as necessary to operate our app:

Analytics:

To analyse usage statistics and improve the user experience, aggregated data may be provided to our analytics service Google Analytics for Firebase.

Advertising:

To display targeted promotions that support the app, certain device/usage information may be provided to our advertising partner Google AdMob.

We only share the minimum data required for these parties to complete requested services on our behalf. All data sharing is governed by the respective privacy policies of Google Analytics, Google AdMob, and Google Firebase. Users can also opt-out of personalised ads via their device settings.

How We Store Your Data

We take reasonable security measures to protect user data collected by our app. This includes using standard encryption protocols and access controls.

User account information like names, email addresses, and passwords are stored in a secure database hosted by Google Firebase. This database is secured through SSL encryption, IP access restrictions, credential access controls, and physical data center protections.

Usage data collected for analytics is aggregated and anonymized before storage on secure Google servers. This non-identifying usage data may be retained indefinitely.

Advertising identifiers or device data needed for ad targeting is securely passed through to and handled by Google advertising platforms per the Google Privacy Policy. This information is kept only as long as needed for serving advertisements.

While we aim to protect user privacy and prevent data loss, no method of electronic storage can ever be 100% secure or error-free. We cannot guarantee absolute protection against threats like hackers, spyware, software bugs, or human error. Users must take care in securing their own devices and credentials.

By using our app, you acknowledge that some degree of data sharing with service providers is essential to required functionality. All such data exchange is carried out according to industry best practices. Please notify us immediately of any actual or suspected data breaches.
